Hi Everyone!
What an incredible month: I traveled to Las Vegas to attend Ali Brown’s SHINE event and experienced an incredible shot-in-the-arm of creative energy from being surrounded by hundreds of other entrepreneurs for several days.
The trip was an interesting blending of the old and the new: While there I visited with some old pals who are fellow master coaches, which was such a heartfelt connecting with wonderful people who share part of a past important to me - the early days of the coaching profession.
And, I took advantage of the incredible shopping in Vegas under the objective eye of a personal stylist, to update my wardrobe and make it more aligned with who I am now. That was fun and exhausting, and stretched my sense of self as I allowed myself to move into new looks and styles – not to define or complete myself, but to see what felt like a more accurate external reflection of what’s now on my inside.
The SHINE event was essentially a container and catalyst for self exploration with new information provided by the presenters (business models for the new economy) as well as revisiting old information (checking in with personal values to see how they are reflected in my business).
The focus was intense and served as a powerful reminder: We may use information and resources from outside of ourselves, but ultimately, our answers come from within.

The Myth of the Magic Bullet: To find success or happiness, we must Quest to find the Magic Bullet, that special something Out There that answer the questions of our lives and makes us complete.
The Myth is a cultural myth, one we absorb, often unconsciously, from the world around us. It tells us we must look outside of ourselves to achieve success, wealth, love, and ultimately, self acceptance and peace.
This is a set-up for frustration. Like an insecure teenage girl anxiously seeking that perfect dress for the prom, we try on and discard jobs, relationships, and even self identities in our attempt to find The One that will give us what we seek...read the rest of this article
