Nine Days to Peace

A nine-day process to deepen connection with Self and Spirit, and experience the power of intention in personal transformation.

Several years ago, I received a Leading while meditating. The Guidance that "came through" was a process or ritual for focusing my thoughts and prayers across the course of nine days. What began as an urgent request from me for relief from emotional pain became much more as the nine days unfolded. I entered this process with a (long!) list of everything I wanted changed in my life. At the end of the nine days, I felt lighter, grateful and reconnected with possibility in my life. More importantly, I felt truly peaceful. The fact that within four years, everything - material and non-material - on that list had manifested in my life, was just icing on the cake!

What is so notable about this process is that it directed me inward, to deepen my connection with myself and with Source at a time in my life when I desperately sought for something outside of me to Make Everything All Right. I believed that if I could just find the right book, the right teacher, the right something, then my life would (finally) be what I wanted it to be. I wanted the Magic Bullet for the questions of my life, and in my quest to find that, I gave away much of my personal power.

The Nine Days process is not a magic bullet or quick fix. It is a framework for harnessing intention, commitment, emotion and focus, to give us a renewed sense of empowerment and choice in our lives.

Over the past seven years, I've shared this process with clients and friends, and have consistently heard people say they experience shifts, openings and movement across the course of the 9 days. After many of requests to do so, I'm now offering Nine Days to Peace in a telegroup format.

Beyond Logic, Part I

Using Interactive Imagery to Support Growth and Healing for Yourself or Someone Else

Would you like a method to self empower when logic, determination and willpower don't get you where you want to go?

In my twelve years as a coach, and in my own journey of becoming, I've been fascinated with why people are not always successful in making the changes they deeply desire. What I've observed is:

  • Logic and reason do not always work to get us where we want to go.
  • Determination and willpower work in some areas of life and not in others - and this can be confusing.
  • Alternative approaches can assist us in moving farther and faster - and interactive imagery is one way to do this.

Interactive imagery is a dynamic process in which you lead yourself in exploration, discovery and transformation. Like meditation, it can be self-led or facilitated by someone else. The imagery process differs from guided meditation because you are an active participant. This process can be powerfully transformative and amazingly gentle as you use it to find the buried treasure lying beneath issues, fears and old beliefs.

This class is for anyone who:

  • Desires to deepen their connection with Self and Source/Universe.
  • Wants to give themselves additional support and resources in their journey of becoming.
  • Coaches or supports others in the process of knowing themselves more deeply and moving past blocks or limitations.

The Heart and Soul of Practice-Building

When the Doing Hasn't Worked: Practice-Building From the Inside Out

Because of my own early struggle in launching my coaching practice as well as the struggle I've seen so many new coaches have, I felt led to explore the underlying reasons. I wondered how coaches could feel so passionate about the experience of supporting others on their path, feel so led to serve - and still not be in movement. In other words, how we could feel "called" and stalled at the same time?!

When I became aware the external actions I took did not result in sustained, consistent movement, I looked inside. And here is what I found:

  1. Filling a practice and sustaining it is a matter of balancing the "being" with the "doing," and-
  2. Until we get the "being," our doing can result in the feeling that we're throwing ourselves against a brick wall.
    Focusing on only the doing does not result in consistent movement toward a desired outcome.
  3. In order to get more done with less energy, to leverage our efforts, the doing needs to be predicated on our being.
    Our actions (the doing) need to be based on and aligned with who we are (the being).

I feel very strongly that coaching is needed more than ever in today's world. Yet, people question the financial viability of coaching in a world of fear and scarcity. Also, many coaches seem to believe they cannot afford to do their heart's work and coach in the style they would prefer since "all the money is in the corporate sector." Or, they can't be authentic and work in their preferred market. At any rate, we seem to have quite a few beliefs floating around about what is and isn't possible for coaches to create - and isn't it interesting that so much of our work focuses on just that with our clients: Creating and walking into possibilities by being the truth of who they are.

The Heart and Soul of Practice Building is a twice-monthly tele-group designed to integrate the head and heart, being and doing aspects of practice building. Topics include (but will not be limited to):

  • Finding your voice as a coach
  • Clarifying your message to the world
  • Identifying visibility-builders that work for you
  • How ego limits practice-building - and some of the "masks" ego can wear
  • Separating abundance and full practice - and getting clear on which comes first!
  • Avoiding an "artificial ceiling" on your practice
  • Managing your energy for sustainability to get off the income roller coaster
  • Leveraging your cycles and rhythms for consistent persistence

Skills Builder Groups (tele-groups)

The Skills Builder Groups are for coaches who “want the learning before the letters.” In other words, you choose to “go for” wisdom through deeper integration of the skills and competencies. When you get the wisdom and the learnings internalized, the letters, or certification, come much more easily.

I put the Skills Builder Groups together after seeing so many new coaches fail the credentialing process. As a Master Certified Coach since 1998, and an assessor since 1999, I feel very deeply about the quality of coaching in the world. As a trainer and mentor of coaches since 1994, I have a strong commitment to providing the most powerful and effective forum possible to support you in your development as a coach.

The certification process has matured along with the profession itself, and is at present, quite thorough and rigorous. As this process continues to be refined, certified coaches can be very certain their credentials -  and their skills - accurately reflect high standards of coaching. I would look for the testing rigor and the validity of credentialing to deepen with the continued development of our profession.

In addition, your confidence – and marketability – as a coach will be reflected in the size and sustainability of your coaching practice. If you want to be one of the coaches who “make it” as a coach, who create a financially viable practice, then look to a solid skills development program to support your movement toward that vision. If the holistic approach to coaching, incorporating hard skills with the truth of your voice, appeals to you, then look to this program.

Mastery Group -  The Dance of Mastery

For Coaches Who Want the Wisdom

This ongoing group is for coaches who:

4      Are committed to true mastery of coaching skills (vs. just going through the motions to get a letter of recommendation).

4      Wish to boost their prep for their next level of certification, generally PCC or MCC.

4      Have been coaching for some time and have accumulated “real world” coaching experience.

If you are serious about integrating the Core Coaching Competencies at the Mastery level with your coaching “voice,” you may find the intimacy and depth of learning in this group is just what you’ve been seeking. Think of this group as a “finishing school” for coaches, where you pull together theory and concepts to apply them in real applications.

All group sessions are recorded with playback links provided to class members to boost your learning. You never need “miss” a session, even when your schedule prevents you from being on the call.

One member of the group coaches another with a real life situation for approximately 30 minutes. We then regroup and analyze the coaching, exploring how the competencies were demonstrated. All group members use the ICF Minimum Requirements Competency by Competency, available for download from the ICF website.**

Each coach receives in depth feedback just as if you are in a combination of a private coaching lesson and an actual ICF testing demonstration.

Schedule: The Mastery Group meets twice monthly for 60-90 minutes, on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month, at 1 PM ET.

Fee: $100 per month for two 60-90 minute sessions.

Bonus: Any active member of one of my groups has the option of booking private coaching time with me at the highly discounted rate of $125 per hour, on an as-needed, as-desired basis.

This is an ever-deepening journey. We play with each Competency to support you in deepening your understanding and application of coaching competencies.
